There's an Alien Taken Over My Brain With my nose stuck down in the pillow Pictures flashing through my head So many wheels which won't stop turning With no connection or thread A backdrop of ever changing scenes Like I can't switch off the TV Can't wind down from overdrive And I know I'm going to get no sleep tonight The people here they seem so real As soon as I shut my eyes With a thousand voices that follow each other With no apparent reason or rhyme Like water dripping upon a stone Saying "this is your virtual hell" To a prisoner hallucinating And staring at the walls of his cell There's an alien taken over my brain And he won't give it back again He's driving me down the fast lane To the rhythm of the insane Why won't he let me rest in peace Why won't he let me rest in peace He'll hound me all night long And as far as I know I've done him no wrong How did he get through my defences How did this virus get a hold He's infected my files and made me his slave My operating system is under his control No amount of willpower can win back the night He's pulling all the triggers, he's pulling all the strings There's a black cloud hovering and blocking all the light There's an alien taken over my brain

Promised Land The journey has been hard and long My morning eyes are bleary Tired of jumping over fences Of this crazy world I'm weary As I look down that way ahead Perhaps my eyes deceive me Sometimes it's close enough to touch Sometimes I think I'm dreaming Around me on all sides I see Thieves and lawyers claiming Insurance men say they're your friends But your life they're slowly draining I won't believe their promises Don't listen to their scheming Their breath is wasted in the wind As I wander off day dreaming I'm going to lay to rest my weary head No more spinning round and round My days will be my own to keep When I wind that clock forever down Do all the things I've wanted and Still have time in hand This promise to myself I'll keep When I reach that promised land. Sometimes that rainbow seems so near In immaculate deception I almost touch it when that road Changes its direction Those voices offer me bad news With shallow sophistication And pictures of that crock of gold In my imagination Chorus When I get to that promised land, sit on that golden shore I'll offer up thanksgiving, I'll tread that wheel no more I'll tell myself breathe easy now, cast off that ball of lead Forget about that old grey cloud that hung around your head I'm out of gear I'm in freewheel I'm going through the motions Yet sometimes in my heart I feel I've swum ten thousand oceans Not looking for a bigger deal Or mountains to be climbing Just leave me with this song to sing Don't count the cost of rhyming. Chorus..

They Say that all the World's a Stage They say that all the world's a stage, And we are all but actors thrust thereon, But some of us just find it hard to stop, And must needs cut a short story long, And from the first unfolding of the drama, Through denoument and that final curtain call We know that from the start, We are bound to play a part And bathe in glory where that spotlight falls... Like my forbears before me, I will nobly tread the boards, Good doctor, cut that cord, lo, here I am As I uttered my first breath, I entered stage left, The young man rumbustuous in his pram, And by Act 1, Scene 3, My first soliloquy, Delivered with a flourish, nice but dim, And with a wave of the hand, and other gestures grand, Bring forth the potty, fill it to the brim.. They say that all the world's a stage, On to Act Three, Scene 2, ah, the supermarket queue, "Good Morning to you on this fateful day!" To fight the noble fight, then exit checkout stage right, "Once more unto the breach" as the bard would say, And on entering my local, still wax exceeding vocal, "Landlord, pull a pint of your finest brew!" Adopt the grand persona with Quentin and Fiona, "To the toilet I must go, my aim is true!" They say that all the world's a stage, Wife's given the green light, for a chap's night ite, Fearless to that discotheque with loud hurrah! If music be the food of love perchance, "Play on, Dutch courage, shall we dance?" "I've got my mojo working, backseat of thecar, Rove the hand undo the bra, unzip the fly Trousers round ankles, (enter wife) "I can explain ", I'm lost for words e rub ub ub ub ub ub er "I am undone!" They say that all the world's a stage...

Haunted 04:30
Haunted Those eyes that once did fire a spark In those heady yesterdays, When we stood as brothers in arms, They now stare hollow in my face What I ask changed the golden child, To the Devil's hand that held the gun, And built the altar where we sacrificed, The lives of other people's sons, Haunted by those dark clouds Haunted where those sorrows creep Haunted by that clock I can't turn back Haunted am I, waking, haunted in my sleep The lines now etched upon my face, Read like the pages of a book, Oh that I could tear them all out Change the ending that it took. The mirror on the bathroom wall Just throws me back a vacant stare, And sleeping brings me no oblivion From the shadows that walk there Haunted Though I count my gold and silver, Mind still rooted in denial, Watch me now my lips are moving With a disconnected smile. No matter how the words are twisted, Truth spider like in a web is spun, Can't hide those bloodstained fingers, And the bitter tears still run Haunted... Lacrimosa dies illa,Qua resurget ex favilla, Judicandus homo reus.Huic ergo parce, Deus: Haunted by those haunted faces looking back at me

An Eighties Song Whatever happened to the inspiration, Where have all the good songs flown, The cutting edge all the creation, Conveyor belt soldiers stand in a row Oh, this is an eighties song, Same old tune and same old rhythm, Toothless it goes round and round Til it vanishes up its own rendition(x2) Aquarium fish with silly haircuts, Sinatra, synths like priests they drone Triumph of style over substance, Technochant in monotone, ils ont change ma chanson and.. Chorus Here today and gone tomorrow, Mayfly music lives for a day, Lucky is the three week wonder Starburst and then fade awaymusic with a frontal lobotomy and Chorus..

Keep that Whistle Blowing There are those who cover up their deeds Beneath a pack of lies, And try to weave a tangled web To cover their backsides. The highre up the ladder you climb, The more snakes in the tree; Cash in plain brown paper envelopes, Get out of jail free. Shenanigans in the government Are under the carpet swept, As the sluge that eat the finest leaves, In the best hotle are kept; As squillions they are squandered, Profits trousered by the few, And the lawyers line their pockets Just like they always do! So keep that whistle blowing, Play that old sweet song, I want to hear that whistle blow, So blow it hard, blow it long; Blow it loud and clear, So all the world can hear, Just to hear that whistle blowing Brings sweet music to my ears. Somebody has blundered And poisoned all the wells, But you can rely on the golf club tie To silence all the bells; Untouchable the board room babble Where they make the rules, Money changers in the temple That take us all for fools. So keep that whistle blowing... Gangsters in the cupboard, As the scales fall from our eyes, You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours As the fleas begin to bite; We'll hoist the double standard, Like an eagle on the flag, Policemen in our pocket, Democracy in a gag, So keep that whistle blowing...

(If Only I'd Worn my (White Boots) Well, I (D)practised hard for hours in the (A)mirror, (G)Squawking and squealing my (D)heart a(A)way, I (D)filled in the form for the au(A)dition And (G)just couldn't wait un(D)til the big(A) day. I'll be(Bm) headed to the land of ce(F#)lebrity, (G)Blinking with that vision of (D)stars in my(A) eyes, Just think of(Bm)all that sand,(G) sea and shopping (D)Waiting for me when I'd won that (A) prize. If (G)only I hadn't sung "I(D) Will Survive", If (G)only I'd stayed in (A)tune, If (Bm)only I'd worn my(A) white(G) boots, Then I'm(D) sure I (A)would of got (Bm)through. If only I'd worn my white boots I'm sure I would of got through. I'd even got my sob story all lined up, Of a childhood of trauma and woe, My dad would have crawled out of the woodwork When I got to that final show My gran would have been blubbering for England, My mum with her fists in the air, And all me mates would text in their votes, And my first single would be played everywhere. If only I hadn't sung "I Will Survive", If only I'd stayed in tune, If only I'd worn my white boots, Then I'm sure I would of got through. If only those judges could of recognised real talent If only they could just of said "yes", Maybe they were all taking backhanders, I can't understand why they weren't impressed. Oh well, it's back to the karaoke night at the pub, All my dreams have sort of melted away, I suppose I'll have to regroup, And who does Simon Cowell think he is anyway? If only I hadn't sung "I Will Survive", If only I'd stayed in tune, If only I'd worn my white boots, Then I'm sure I would of got through.

Watching the Harbour Lights I’ve been a salt sailor For many’s the long year, And through many a morning, My ship I did steer But now I’m returned Some time to the shore No more I’ll go a sailing.. Watching the harbour lights From the quayside Reflect off the water in the warm even tide Calm lie the fishing boats Home from the sea, As bathed in the moonlight My dreams are following me. Storms I would fear not, All angers subside To the wide elemental The stars as my guide, Tossed like a leaf I’ve a mind still to be Feeling the salt spray in my dreaming.. Watching the harbour lights Feet on terra firma I thought I might drown, And those dandelion roots I never put down, But I’ll drag these old bones Once more down to the pier And take in the smell of the ocean. Watching the harbour lights

Glow-worm 09:25
Glow-Worm 1.We were all aboard the Glowworm, steaming off the Norway shore, Escorting the Renown, laying mines to stop the iron ore, When down comes a signal "man overboard", We search the deep dark waters for an hour or more, But life in those frozen waters would be half an hour at the most, So we call off the search and start to head off up the coast; Full speed ahead to make up time lost, But the weather blows foul and the ship gets tossed And the waves on the sea how they roar, And the chilly winds how they do blow, And the light from the Glowworm is dying And the light from the Glowworm is dying. 2.She pitches and she rolls and gets further adrift of the pack And those cold Norwegian waters take no sides and show no pity deep and black. Two more men overboard more heaving sick, And some are injured by the rolling of the ship. To keep ourselves clean we chose a llfe on the high seas, No festering in a muddy hole, eaten alive by fleas, But how we wish we were in some seaport town, Like London or Portsmouth not rats about to drown. And the waves on the sea how they roar, And the chilly winds how they do blow, And the light from the Glowworm is dying And the light from the Glowworm is dying. 3. At dawn we sight a german ship, Paul Jacobi' by name Opens fire on the Glowworm, and we give it back the same, And soon the Bemdt Von Arnhem not far in advance, Her decks full of stormtroops like an army of ants, We knew what the meaning was, an invasion force was near, Heading for the Norway coast, not many leagues from here, Would we turn about our job not yet done? No the captain was the bulldog breed, and he refused to run, And the waves on the sea how they roar, And the chilly winds how they do blow, And the light from the Glowworm is dying And the light from the Glowworm is dying. 4. How many thought him brave, though foolhardy at the best? To steam ahead at full knots, straight into that hornet's nest, Some cursed his tunnel vision under their breath, Or cracked nervous jokes to hide the fear of death, When five miles in the distance just after morning comes, We sight the Admiral Von Hipper, with her 8 inch guns, A Goliath of 10,000 tons of German steel and how, Those bastards really knew their job, they'll have our range by now And the waves on the sea how they roar, And the chilly winds how they do blow, And the light from the Glowworm is dying And the light from the Glowworm is dying. 5. Now the very first salvo that the Hipper she let go, As the Glowworm sent her signal otf struck us a mighty blow'. We lay down a smokescreen to cover our tracks, Then down came the order for torpedo attacks. But be very next salvo cut through the smoke and found its mark , Killed the sick bay party and took down part of the mast, Knocked down the wireless aerial into the siren's mouth, So she wailed like a banshee is we turned about. And the waves on the sea how they roar, And the chilly winds how they do blow, And the light from the Glowworm is dying And the light from the Glowworm is dying. 6. Our torpedoes missed their market as shells they struck the engine room, And the Glow-worm crossed the Hipper's bows, this crippled ship would be our tomb. Our torpedoes all gone and d full steam ahead, We'll take the Hipper with us down to the sea bed, As like a great cathedral the cruiser loomed up tall and straight. We rammed her amidships and took off 100 feet of armour plate, Then we drew back from the big ship's side, Still firing off our guns as she began to slide. And the waves on the sea how they roar, And the chilly winds how they do blow, And the light from the Glowworm is dying And the light from the Glowworm is dying. 7 The captain gave the order "abandon ship'' she's going fast, Like Horatio on the bridge, this cigarette would be his last. And the captain of the Hipper was a man of honour true, They dragged 40 from the sea petty officer and crew, They threw our captain a lifeline, but the waves swept him away, And for 100 of our shipmates, the sea would be their resting place, And our wives and sweethearts had to weep and wait, Five long years to learn their loved ones' fate.. And the waves on the sea how they roar, And the chilly winds how they do blow, And the light from the Glowworm is dying And the light from the Glowworm is dying.

Blue Arsed Fly Alarm clock rings, ungodly hour, take a shower, nightmare, Breakfast, coffee, hit the town ,hit the pedal, foot down, Red light, roadworks, they're digging up the universe, Gridlock, beat the clock, need a leak but can't stop. Trains late, in a state, crammed in sardine tin, Escalator can't pass, stuck behind a lardarse, Revolving doors too slow, running late, touch and go, ,Network down, a frozen screen, all seems like a bad dream, Oh, to sit and watch the world go by, Why must I buzz around like a blue arsed fly(x2) Internet at a crawl, photocopier broke and all, Pens that write in morse code, stapler has no fixed abode, Brownie points, can't compete, won't be worker of the week, Manager a total pratt, arse licker, kick the cat. Wall to wall, no time to think, headless chicken at the brink, Work through lunchtime ,try to catch up, watch your step, watch your back, All work no play, the modern way, lackaday, Grabasnack, Burgermac, heading for the cardiac. Oh, to sit and watch the world go by, Why must I buzz around like a blue arsed fly(x2) In the kazi, don't be long, time to sing the company song, Hit the keys, stare at the screen, information, primal scream, System crash, cut a dash, Jack Flash, earn the cash, Holiday, St Tropez, convalesce not holiday. Why did we invent machines, to fulfil our wildest dreams, Who's the master, who's the slave, spend and save, to your grave, Logoff, bogoff, braindead, when all is said, Hit the bottle, hit the can, let the shit hit the fan, Oh, to sit and watch the world go by, Why must I buzz around like a blue arsed fly(x2) Mortgage for a thousand years, get in debt up to your ears, Kids a pain, a money drain, new bike, new trainers, All the while, lifestyle, four wheel drive a country mile, Sell your lkife expectancy, lemmings headed to the sea. Oh, to sit and watch the world go by, Why must I buzz around like a blue arsed fly(x2)

Rose Scented Glasses It's nearly 4 years since the last time we blew it So 'ere we go again!" time to put you all froo it Those high expectorations, talk of 1966, out of the Goldfish bowl into the fire, your hopes all in bits We said we was gonna win this time, 3 Lions on our flag. Now we've gambled all our eggs, kicked ourselves in the foot, sick as parrots on the plane back All those open goals wot we missed and those penalties wot they saved, If Sir Alf Ramsey woz alive today e'd be turnin' in 'is grave We're gonna lose it, we're gonna lose it Then we'll 'ave to come 'ome and face the music And when those winning German goals go in It'll be déjà vu all over again, We fought we'd turned over a new broom an' all Now I'd love to me a mole on that dressing room wall But if you fought we'd string together more than two passes You'd be looking at the world fru rose scented glasses Now we're one nil up, but when it weally matters Can we withstand this entouwage they're frowin at us However you interpwetate, you can't make sense Of the total demolishment of our defence The wefewee has stopped the game they're calling 'im arf witted, Now e's got iz got iz notebook art to see what indiscwepancies have been committed, But it was just the Bwazilians over exubewated goal celebwation And the measurements he took just served to further exaspewate the situation Gonna lose it... So now we bin and gone and lost, our chance is come and gone, You said what we was gonna do and that's what we done, The manager got the tactics wrong is what the papers say We need a more tactile manager to teach us how to play Though we ran our socks into the ground, and showed great integrity We're all integral players , but in four years time you'll see We'll think the world will be our lobster yet still get taken to the cleaners Or go out on penalties to Spain or Argentina.. Gonna lose it, gonna lose it Cos we'll get dumped out on our rich arses.

Ye Greedy Bastards All! 1.Oh come ye greedy bastards all, oh let your tale be told, Of how ye came into the land, in far off days of old, To build your castles strong, and hide behind their walls, To take the best, to feather the nests of greedy bastards all. 2. We worked upon your stubborn soil, to plough and sow and reap, You stole the forests and the fields, and made them yours to keep, Like cattle we were bought and sold, while you grew fat and tall, Our purpose but to fill the gut of greedy bastards all. Ye greedy bastards all, ye greedy bastards all, Time to sing of Captain Swing, Wat Tyler and Jack Straw, And when will everyman be invited to the ball, And cease his toil and share the spoils with greedy bastards all. 3. You took us from the land, and put us on your mighty wheels, Eternity upon the treadmill of your wretched mills, With political economy to sanctify the poor, Who pay the dues and turn the screws for greedy bastards all. 4. Now revolutions came and went, our hopes are all but passed, Yet still that hydra grows its heads behind its walls of glass, High up on your balcony, your pride will stand no fall, Still pissing on the peasants, ye greedy bastards all! Ye greedy bastards all, ye greedy bastards all, Time to sing of Captain Swing, Wat Tyler and Jack Straw, And when will everyman be invited to the ball, And cease his toil to share the spoils with greedy bastards all. 5. Now dressed up in your finest suits, you stand in serried ranks, Your judges call for prison walls for the man who robs the bank, But the banks that rob the man are protected by your laws, All hail the global mafia of greedy bastards all! 6. We all vote for that rainbow's end, with its pot of gold, Yet still the markets call the tune, as dreams are bought and sold, And those starlings in the garden fly away before the fall, And Robin Hood drowns in the flood of greedy bastards all. Ye greedy bastards all, ye greedy bastards all, Time to sing of Captain Swing, King Arthur and Jack Straw, And when will everyman be invited to the ball, And cease his toil to share the spoils with greedy bastards all.

Range Rover. 03:52
Range Rover. I've been a total airhead for many a long year, And medical science can find no known cure, But somehow I've gathered up gold in great store, So I've gone out and bought a bloody great 4 x 4 And it's Stuff The Planet, Bugger posterity, I will drive my Range Rover, So the neighbours can see. Though I work in an office from morning till late, You'd think that I came off my country estate. And my credit rating means I've got a huge loan, With a voice like John Major, I'm God on his throne. And it's Stuff The Planet If a Range Rover's slightly out of my price range A Daihitsumishibishiboshi will do just the same, See my radiator full in your rear view, I'll be right up your backside a tailgating you.. And it's Stuff The Planet As a lifestyle statement, I need this beast, Though the fuel consumption's prodigal to say the least, On a narrow country road, I won't budge an inch, As straddling the white line I drive you in the ditch. And it's Stuff The Planet Now the wife's got one too, for the school run it's great, Though we only live twenty five yards from the gates. Watch her mounting the kerb, with shopping on her mind, Scattering children and cones across the double yellow lines And it's Stuff The Planet Perched up on high, King of all that I survey, Annoyed when the world won't get out of my way. My garage mechanic he doesn't miss a trick, And he always knows where he can find the dipstick.. And it's Stuff the planet (King of the road!!)etc
