Wishful Thinking

Passing the time on a lazy kind of river
Kidding myself I’m pulling all the strings,
A fool in love always cheating at patience,
Imagination soaring on magic wings

Wishful thinking, is all I seem to do,
I need that wishful thinking to see me through,
As I look into the mirror, I’ll just pretend
Wishful thinking is my best friend.

Dropping coins down that wishing well,
Praying for escape from all this reality,
Lottery dreams woven in a magic spell,
But all in vain as it will only be..
